To all Customers: Please be sure to read.

<Safety Precautions>
Request for periodic inspection of terminals
at both ends of sheathed heaters.

Periodically inspect the sheathed heater fixing screws used for the cross heat sealers and the terminals on both ends of the sheathed heaters. *Applicable models: BH series pouch making machines (models manufactured before 2007)

Thank you very much for the continued business with us.
This is a request and notice regarding safety measures for sheathed heaters. Please be sure to read them carefully, and if you are using the affected models, please have them inspected on a regular basis.

Necessity of periodic inspection of terminals at both ends of sheathed heaters.
  1. The heater wire terminal (round terminal) is secured to the sheathed heater terminal with a hex nut. If the hex nut is loose and continues to be used, sparks may occur between the round terminal and the hex nut creating elevated temperatures at both terminals.
    Both terminals are in partial contact with the silicon sponge. A few cases have been reported in which the *silicon sponge ignites from the contact points.

    *Silicone sponge is flame retardant and self-extinguishing. No serious cases of ignition have been reported.

Request for retightening of both ends of sheathed heater terminals.
  1. We request our customers to not only visually inspect the sheathed heater terminals but also retighten them once a year.
    * Please shut off the power supply for safety when retightening.
    * When replacing the heater, please be careful not to loosen the terminals.
    * Please keep the area around the sheathed heater free of combustible materials such as paper, adhesive Teflon, film, dust, etc. in case of emergency.

    Observe the following tightening torque values for the fixing screws.
    M6 hollow set: 5.1 [N-m]
    M4 hex nut: 4.1 [N-m]
  2. In addition to periodic inspections of both ends of the sheathed heaters, periodic inspection of the cartridge heater fixing screws is also requested. For details of the inspection, please refer to "Request for periodic inspection of cartridge heater fixing screws" in "concerning safe operation of pouch making machines.
